An Update on the handsome stable of artists:

PETER LAUGHNER
is still dead. But you can check him out on these pages:

Peter's Death...

We're not selling Peter's music anymore, but there is big news coming on that front from Smog Veil Records. If you're a Peter fan, be patient. Rumor has it that 2011 is the year... Keep your eyes on www.smogveil.com.

THE BACKDOOR MEN
are alive and well, scattered to the four winds, but in constant communication, telepathically and otherwise. They've just finished making a new record that will be available shortly. "One Hand Clapping" features a collection, re-recorded for clarity and in relative sobriety, of some of their earliest music.

Here's the cover of "One Hand Clapping":

TERRY HARTMAN
A cornerstone of the Backdoor Men and, along with his childhood pal Dan Cook one of the great songwriters in this humble scribe's experience, is alive and well and living in rural northern Ohio with his lovely wife Laurie, dogs, and numerous children. Musically he's in a major renaissance with the extraordinary pop juggernaut "Deadbeat Poets,"in which he's teamed with Frank Secich, legendary leader of the seventies Youngstown band Blue Ash, along with members of Youngstown's Infidels. These guys are really f***ing good! They've released two albums - Notes from the Underground, and quite recently, Circus Town.  You gotta hear it to believe it!

Here's the cover of "Circus Town":

You can find both Circus Town and Notes from the Underground here:

You'll also find the Deadbeat Poets on MySpace at www.myspace.com/deadbeatpoets.

DAN COOK
Hartman's counterpart on the songwriting end is also alive & well and living in Portland, where the liberal heart beats strong. He's a dad to a couple of great kids, a husband to a lovely wife, and STILL PLAYING. He's got a great little band called "Since June," is prone to saving injured squirrels he finds on the sidewalk, and taking thirty-mile hikes. Jeez, Cook. Why don't you make us ALL feel bad?

Here's Since June's logo:

Find them on the web at www.myspace.com/sincejune.

DEREK DEPRATOR
is going great guns, but off the Handsome site. He's still rocking his socks off, most recently in a band named - yes - DEPRATOR. You can connect with Derek on Facebook (which he prefers), or MySpace (which seems to be falling from favor).

Derek on Facebook (You'll have to "look him up," of course)

AND THAT'S THE HANDSOME STORY FOR RIGHT NOW. Good to be alive.
